INTRODUCTION TO DEPARTMENT

The department of ENT- head and neck surgery of CMH is associated with Karachi Institute of medical college (KIMS). It has a fully equipped OPD, OT, audiology room and ward. In OPD we have more than 150 patients. Our department is a center of training to post graduate and under graduate students. Our Department is recognized by PMDC and CPSP for training.  Our OPD has a latest ENT unit for examination of patient and teaching the students. There is a procedure room in OPD for minor ENT procedures and facilities of diagnostic fibre optic/ rigid endoscope of ear nose and throat. We also have a seminar room for teaching medical students and for conducting other academic activities. In Operation theatre {OT} we have latest microscope, endoscope facilities for microscopic plus endoscopic ear, nose, throat and head & neck ear surgeries.

Prof. Dr Ismail Hirani 

Prof Dr Ismail Hirani graduate of Sindh Medical College Karachi. Did his DLO from Karachi. He had completed fellowship of E.N.T, Head and Neck Surgery from College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan {CPSP}. My whole training and career is from Dow University of health sciences and civil hospital Karachi.

  • Author of 17 original articles and many case reports.
  • Member of editorial board of journal of Pakistan Society of Otorhinolaryngology {PSORL}.
  • Head of Department of Karachi Institute of Medical Sciences, KIMS.
  • Member of board of study of E.N.T, head and Neck Surgery of Dow University of health sciences.
  • Ex general secretory of Pakistan Society of Otorhinolaryngology.
  • Examiner and paper setter of College of Physician and Surgeons Pakistan {CPSP}.
  • Examiner of most of the medical colleges of Karachi.
